An Unhappy Accident

The moment school ends a gigantic weight lifts from your shoulders, almost everybody is happy when the summer holidays arrive, but I was not. To understand the reason for this we have to go back of two weeks before the end of school.

On Monday 9 June Henry, an old classmate, had planned a party, and it consisted in driving go-carts! A big part of the class came to the party, and all went well until the unhappy event occurred. I was driving happily when in the middle of a turn the cart started going straight. I saw the wall come closer and closer, I was hopeless, i tried to turn, and break, but the cart continued i his deadly speed, until with a great bang I crashed into the barrier. I got up and tried to walk, I made two steps and then sat down, the only thing that hurt was my leg, and then they gave me the bad news that the leg was broken.

I passed three days in the hospital; they gave me a bad news after good news, but at the end the only bad news were that they had to put a nail in my foot, and I had to stay two months without using the leg. I had broken both of two bones that make up the lower part of the leg, and worse of all, the two bones had moved. The rehabilitation was to be long, but at the end my leg would be as good as if it was new.

I had an enormous plaster, which covered completely my leg, and the hospital of Trieste wanted to leave it for all the healing time. The problem was that it was summer, and the heat entered in the plaster making me suffer greatly. To fight this problem we went in the mountains where they had cured my other leg when I broke it. There they said it was nonsense to keep the nail and the plaster all the summer, so they took them off and they put a light protection on my leg and they said in some days I could also walk with the light plaster.

In the summer we had planed to go to Africa, and we all hoped my leg cured fast enough to be able to depart. This time the hospital in the mountains gave us problems, and it said that the light plaster could not be taken of, so we went o the hospital of Trieste. There they took off the plaster, and told I could walk freely. So we went to Africa, and I had a beautiful summer also with the unhappy accident.

Having a broken leg is terrible, and after this accident I promised myself that I will never drive a go-cart again in my life, and also with the car I will pay attention. I hope this will never happen again, and I will try to make sure this is true.

The 5 Traits

Most of the five traits are easy for me. I understood most of them, like the ideas, the ideas are really creativity so you do not have to work on it. The organization instead gives me some problems, my essays are often unorganized. The voice is the sign of the author, and it is not very difficult to understand that everybodie's voice is different, and to get a good grade in voce you have to write what is in you. The word choice is easy for me because I read a lot of books. The sentence fluency can also be challenging, the ways in which you put words can be many, and you have to find the right one.

concluding the hardest trait for me is organization

When Books Become Movies

In the modern world an increasing number of books are being turned into movies. Is this a good thing that incourages people to read that book, or does it discourage people to read it, letting them choose the easier option of looking at the movie?

I think a book gains a lot of fame being turned into a movie, but it also looses something. When you read a book, you immagine, or should immagine the story in your brain. When you look at the movie yo can compare and contrast your immagination with the thoughts of the film maker. It is interesting to comment the errors or successes of the fim. The opposit event, seeing a film before reading the book can be mostly harmful. It is difficult to read a book when you know already the story, and it is much easier and quicker to look at a movie then to read a book. It can also be positive, an example is our class. They have seen the movie of twilight, and now everybody is reading the series.

A book can gain many profits by being turned into a movie. A movie has much morebopportunities in becoming famous than a book mainly because of an instrument called television we watch almost every day. It is much more comon to see a publicity of a film than the publicity of a book, so being turned into a film the book gains a lot of publicity. A book is commonly turned into a film mainly because it is famous or well written. An unknown book can grab the attention of a movie-maker and after a film is made out of it suddently everybody starts to read it. This is not very common, so people would still read the book, maybe not so much, but it would still have a minor success. Another thing that can happen is that people get the rights for a book, and they let years pass. When the book is almost forgotten they make a film out of it, and they have great success until the book comes out. In some cases the book does not come out, and the author receives no glory at all.

I have read and seen the movies of a great number of books. One example is "The Lord of the Rings". In my personal opinion it is a great film of the book. The film ignored many parts, this is understandable because making the film of "The Lord of the Rings" the length of the book you would pass your life lin front of the television watching it. The makers of the movie also made the drammatic scenes more exciting, J.R.R Tolkiens was not very good in the battle scenes, making them short and with little description. This is a good example, but in some cases the movie is so different from the film that the author protests against the film sayng that they copied the ideas but not the story. This happended to Clive Cussler in the film of the book "Raise the Titanic". In this case the film was negative and it brought little success to the book.

Books

The last book I read was "Mostly Harmless", I read this book because the librarian thought it could be a book I would like. This book is part of a series called the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. It is a funny series that shows how something illogical can be made into a book.I read the whole series and I really enjoyed it. The author is dead, so understandably he will write no more books.

People read books to do something funny and relaxing. Playing electronic games hurts your eyes and listening to music hurts your ears, so the only thing that you can do continuously is reading. While reading you exit the world to enter the book. You leave a common life to enter the strange and adventurous life of the main character. Words are only tiny signs, but the reader sees in those signs entire stories that help him crack the monotonous life.

Reading was first invented to record things. in the ancient times you read books to learn and not to enjoy. Reading a book will always make you learn something. You could learn moral in the books for infants, a fact that happened in a history book, or a story in a fictional book. Nothing teaches more than a book. Also teachers use books to help them, because the memory of humans is limited while the books hold what was written in them until they are destroyed or harmed.
Electronics will never take the place of books, playing electronic games hurts your eyes, body, fingers or ears, so the playing is limited. The pixels that flash on the screen tire your eyes. Reading books can be a thing that never ends, you can read until you get annoyed, and with some books this never happens . You can pass entire days reading, but you can play only a few hours at electronic games.

Books where created first of technology, and they will exist for ever to give humanity the possibility to remember.
